When i try to install NetBSD 1.4.x i get lots of errors. First:
NetBSD 1.4.2 does not boot. So i tried NetBSD 1.4. That's ok (there
is only a message: "device md0 (0xd00) not configured", but i use
md0a, md0b and the system boots). When i try to copy a miniroot to
my system i get the following (see how to repeat).
Is there someone who can tell me what i am doing wrong? Is there
an online man page for edlabel? (i do not know the allowed types)

Thank for all help

Matthias

The command for labelling and partitioning a disk for NetBSD/sun3 is
 called "disklabel"

One thing to be careful about is that the partitions must be sized in
cylinders (that is, the number of blocks in each partition must be a
multiple of the number of blocks in a cylinder). If you don't do
that, the sun3 boot PROM will declare the disk label invalid and will
 not boot from it.

Does this answer the question you filed the PR for?

 Hello,

thank you for your message. I used the form x/y/z to assign partition
boundaries and set y and z as zero. So i partitioned my disk using only
cylinders. I think so everything must be all right. But the installation
program says, that this is a read only slice. I don't know why. I also
don't know what partition names are allowed (BSD4.2, swap and so on).

 Bye

 Matthias
