>Description:
Complete fresh rebuilt of NetBSD-3.99.15 and all packages from pkgsrc-current.

When running skype, system will instantly freeze when making a call. Power cycling the system is currently the only way to recover from this situation.

>How-To-Repeat:
Install skype from the packages collection on NetBSD-i386 3.99.15 with packages built using 2005Q5 CVS

Is it okay if I change this category to port-i386 or kern?

Even if pkgsrc can have a work-around, it seems the more important issue
 is the system freeze.

The problems persists with skype-1.2.0.18, causing to freeze and crash
 shortly after establishing a call.

Then I upgraded to the latest 1.3.0.53 and everything works like a charm.
I tested it thoroughly with a lot of calls.

Another thing is, that skype continues to run, after you close the skype window.
The only clean shut down is via File->close. This problem existed in
 1.2.0.18 aswell.

And a short message should advice the user to set record.source=mic,
after skype has been installed via pkgsrc.

This PR can be closed. (as soon skype is updated to 1.3.0.53)

 Zafer.

uh, no. the PR, of course, _can't_ be closed if NetBSD -current still
freezes with older skype (as your mail suggests).
