>Description:
Building editors/abiword on MacOS X 10.4.7 results in failure to find
its online documentation and example files as shown here:

   http://mylinuxisp.com/~jdbaker/misc/abiword-build-errors.txt

The files in question are in various directories immediately below
that of the script reporting the error shown at the URL above.
The main program goes on to install and run OK, but these ancillary
files are missing (so the "Help" menu doesn't work, for example).

This appears to be a recurrence of pkg/32144, except the inverse case.
In that PR, abiword built properly and completely on MacOS X, but
failed to find the ancillary files on NetBSD/i386,sparc.

This time around, last time I tried, abiword installs properly and
completely on NetBSD/i386 (haven't tried sparc yet), but is failing to
find the ancillary files on MacOS X.

My /usr/pkg/etc/mk.conf is as follows:

# Example /usr/pkg/etc/mk.conf file produced by bootstrap-pkgsrc
# Wed May 24 23:02:33 CDT 2006

.ifdef BSD_PKG_MK # begin pkgsrc settings

PKG_DBDIR=/usr/pkg/var/db/pkg
LOCALBASE=/usr/pkg
VARBASE=/usr/pkg/var
FETCH_CMD=/usr/pkg/bin/ftp
PAX=/usr/pkg/bin/pax

WRKOBJDIR=/Volumes/NetBSD/tmp/pkgsrc
#CREATE_WRKDIR_SYMLINK=NO

PAPERSIZE=Letter

ACCEPTABLE_LICENSES+=xv-license
ACCEPTABLE_LICENSES+=lame-license
ACCEPTABLE_LICENSES+=no-commercial-use

.endif                  # end pkgsrc settings

 I've just confirmed that the problem described in this PR is not limited
 to MacOS X. NetBSD/i386 exhibits the same problem.

 In the NetBSD/i386 case, the system is:

 NetBSD yggdrasil 3.99.22 NetBSD 3.99.22 (PESC430) #1: Fri Jul 14
 02:33:48 CDT 2006
 sysop@jbaker-desk.cis.sac.accd.edu:/space/nbsd/i386/sys/arch/i386/compile/PESC430
 i386

 using pkgsrc-2006Q2.

 The problem described in this PR persists, now using pkgsrc-2006Q3.

 Target system:

 NetBSD verthandi 4.0_BETA NetBSD 4.0_BETA (VERTHANDI) #0: Sat Sep  9 00:17:16 CDT 2006  sysop@verthandi:/space/nbsd/sys/arch/i386/compile/VERTHANDI i386

 I expect to try it again on MacOS X 10.4.8 soon.

 This isn't failing in recent bulk builds.
 as an example, this exists in joyent's darwin-trunk:
 https://pkgsrc.joyent.com/packages/Darwin/trunk/x86_64/editors/abiword-3.0.1nb2.tgz
 (30/May)

 so I think this was fixed in the meantime.

 It's impossible to say since the dependencies necessary to build most
 GUI applications (MesaLib) no longer build on MacOS X 10.4.11 (PPC).

 Should the situation change and "editors/abiword" becomes buildable on
 this platform again, a new PR would be in order to address any issues.

 Sorry. I didn't see powerpc part.
