Media autoselect for network card on I386 seems broken with NetBSD 3.1_PATCH kernel.
dmesg shows the following error:
SIOCSIFMEDIA: Invalid argument: ifconfig IP netmask IP media autoselect
>How-To-Repeat:
Might not be applicable for every card (?), just switch to media autoselect with a NetBSD 3.1_PATCH kernel (03/11/2007) and reboot.
>Fix:
No kernel fix. The workaround is to set media type manually. i.e: IP netmask IP media manual TYPE

What kind of adapter are you using (what driver) ?
I have some systems running 3.1_PATCH and didn't notice this.

Problem solved: ethernet card removed. Can be considered as "close" or
"dead" if not reproducible.
