VaxStation 3100 Model VS42A
32 MByte Ram
4 GByte IBM SCSI DISK
>Description:
After having installed everything manually (since the installer does not work) I installed the bootloader on /dev/sd0 via disklabel -B sd0 (I tried installboot as well). But the bootloader does not work.

CONSOLE OUTPUT VAX:
===================
>>> boot dka0

-DKA0
?50 SCB2NDINT, DKA0
 85 RESTART SYS
 84 FAIL

 83 BOOT SYS
-DKA0
?50 SCB2NDINT, DKA0
 85 RESTART SYS
 84 FAIL

 83 BOOT SYS

(two weeks ago I installed OpenBSD on the same computer, which managed to boot from the same harddisk without any problems)

State-Changed-By: ragge@NetBSD.org
State-Changed-When: Tue, 03 Apr 2018 08:35:59 +0000
State-Changed-Why:
Most likely a problem with compilation of xxboot back then.
Preferred way to install boot blocks are "installboot -v /dev/rsd0a /usr/mdec/xxboot" these days.
