>Release: NetBSD 4.99.30 (-current as of September 4, 2007)
>Organization:
>Environment:
System: NetBSD guava.gson.org 4.99.30
Architecture: i386
Machine: i386
>Description:

I tried upgrading a machine to a 4.99.30 GENERIC kernel built from
-current sources of September 4, 2007. When booting the new kernel,
there was a pause of about a minute after the cd1 probe. Then
the kernel printed the message

uhub0: device problem, disabling port 2

and continued booting. When the login prompt appeared, the USB
keyboard was unresponsive.

The keyboard works at the boot prompt, but if I enter "boot -c" to
invoke userconf, it no longer works at the userconf prompt.

The problem appeared some time between 4.99.6 (which works fine) and
4.99.15 (which fails the same way as 4.99.30 except that it lacks the
one-minute pause).

The motherboard is an ABIT KG7 RAID. Here's the dmesg output:

I can make the keyboard work again by changing the BIOS setting

   PIRQ_3 Use IRQ No. Auto

 to

   PIRQ_3 Use IRQ No. 10

but I consider that a workaround, not a fix; NetBSD should work with
the default BIOS settings, especially when previous versions did.

I also see the similar problem, as PR kern/11018.
(i.e. USB devices on uhci worked if I specified an IRQ for it)

It's VIA's uhci specific, and might be timing related bug.
