After invoking xkbd from an xterm window, the following error message appears;

# Sorry - server Keyboard map doesn't contain either 2 or 4 KeySyms per Keycode - unsupported!

then the keyboard appears.

I checked the keyboard mapping table using "xmodmap -pk" and it displays;

# There are 6 KeySyms per KeyCode; KeyCodes range from 8 to 255.
