System: NetBSD brain 4.99.63 NetBSD 4.99.63 (BRAIN) #3: Sun May 25 08:33:04 EDT 2008 root@brain:/usr/obj/sys/arch/amd64/compile/BRAIN amd64
Architecture: x86_64
Machine: amd64
>Description:
The latest R61 has an ALPS UltraNav (touchpoint and pad)
which is recognized by pms, but not with the synaptics
protocol, so while there is basic functionality, none of
	the synaptics sysctls are available.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try it out. With SYNAPTICSDEBUG in the kernel, it produces:

	pms0: synaptics_probe: Not synaptics.
>Fix:
None. Simply forcing the match to succeed results in
non-functioning UltraNav. There are some notes on this
	device here:

I no longer have the R61, but when I get a chance I'll try booting a
-current live image on my T520 and report what I get.

State-Changed-Why:
Author mentions no longer having this hardware. This is a request to write a driver, and one has been written, but perhaps there are some cases not covered. Not sure the bug report serves a purpose.
