Not a bug but should be changed if possible. When compiling perl5.10.0.nb4
on Solaris with the SunPro compiler it uses -xargs=generic64 instead of the -m64 compile option. this gives me a lot of warnings. My question is where does perl get that directive from ? I can't seem to figure out where perl gets it from. It should use the -m64 option because the Sunpro compiler allways gives warnings otherwise. I tried to figure out where perl gets the directive from. but can't seem to find the answer... If I knew I could fix it.

Issue on Solaris. It came from getconf?

Did the fix for PR 44999 fix this issue also?

State-Changed-Why:
Feedback mail is bouncing. Anyone in a position to check if this is still
valid? (requires Solaris with the SunPro compiler)

I could handle it. Will not happen shortly, but I have such a machine
and hopefully find a tuit this year.

That would be helpful... but don't worry too much about it, at this
point it's just another old PR... :(

State-Changed-Why:
As the report says, it isn't a bug, but a question about why the warnings appear. It was answered: they come from getconf. Perl seems to have the workaround for the warnings upstream now. Perhaps if anyone is very interested, consider modifying getconf's results, but we are the wrong group of people to ask to change Solaris's getconf results.
