	after a panic and being the kernel hanging in "syncing filesystems"
	fsck truncated some symlinks that were created shortly before the
	panic by a "make" in a kernel compilation directory and left
	zero length symlinks behind.

	"cd GENERIC && make"
	break into ddb and
	"reboot 4"
	get lucky
