Sorry, N/A
>Description:
I installed 5.0_RC1/i386 into a i386 board. And here is the dmesg:
(copied by hand)
| NetBSD 5.0_RC1 ...
| isaki@...
| total memory = 119 MB
| avail memory = 113 MB
| timecounter: Timecounters ticks every 10.000 msec
| timecounter: Timecounter "i8254" frequency 1193182 Hz quality 100
| ( )
| mainbus0 (root)
| :
I know that this strange " ( )" line should display
vendor or brand name or something. However, who display it?
and what keyword do I grep in this situation?
At least, some prefix string (like "timecounter: ") is more
preferable, I think.
There are two problem:
1) I don't know who display it.
2) on this board, it displays "no data"(?),
but it's another problem, don't mind it now.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install NetBSD-5 and see dmesg.
>Fix:
sys/arch/x86/x86/platform.c::platform_print() ?

FYI, mine says:
>> timecounter: Timecounters tick every 10.000 msec
>> timecounter: Timecounter "i8254" frequency 1193182 Hz quality 100
>> To Be Filled By O.E.M. To Be Filled By O.E.M. (To Be Filled By O.E.M.)
