During the build process, Alchemy is not detected as 'mips32'. As a result, default 'mips1' is defined, though  bind9 does not support mips1.  So the build stops.

  'EXT_CFLAGS=-mips32 make'

Very stale bug report. BIND has been updated many times and there's no bind96 package now. Unlikely that remembering that an old version had an issue helps with resolving any future issues. Sorry your bug was not addressed at the time.
