Hello. I have a Samsung NC10 netbook. According to http://netbsd.org/ports/i386/netbook.html its wireless is supported thanks to some Atheros patch, but I can't find it anywhere. Also http://wiki.netbsd.se/Samsung_NC10 shows thath everything is OK with the wireless card.

But a fresh 5.0.1 install show something like this:

ath0 at pci1 dev 0 function 0
ath0: interrupting at ioapic0 pin 16
ath0: unable to attach hardware; HAL status 13

On FreeBSD 8-RELEASE everything is OK, so is on Linux. Here are some additional Linux info:

Install NetBSD 5.0.1 or 5.0.2 RELEASE on a Samsung NC10 netbook.

Maybe porting some parts of FreeBSD's 8 ath driver will help.

 Hi,

A -current kernel build should support your adapter.

It would be nice to port that to netbsd-5.

-current is not a stable thing on a notebook when you need it.

Thanks for your reply, I'll try a -current build and let you all know.

5.99.27 indeed supports this chipset but unfortunately the installer
is somewhat broken (letters are unreadable) so I'm only concluding
 from installer's dmesg an ifconfig.
Where can I submit a bug regarding this 5.99.27 installer bug?

send-pr (in category install) or just explain what you mean with "letters
are unreachable" and/or mail me screenshot (or copy or serial console
 output).

In fact it works with netbsd-5. I had problems because the Fn-keys do not work
and the wifi was disabled in the bios to save power.

ath0 still attaches if the bios has wifi disabled but it is not usable in that
 state.
