atf defaults to jmmv

State-Changed-Why:
Not a NetBSD-specific problem. I'm keeping track of this in:
https://www.julipedia.org/projects/atf/trac/ticket/7
Thanks for the point though; I was only thinking about cleaning up garbage,
not killing running tests.

Well, it is a problem *in* NetBSD ;)

Anyway, I'll try to remember to go directly to the source with atf from
now on. Thanks & keep up the good effort.

let's keep this open until it gets fixed, so it doesn't get forgotten about
in the (hopefully unlikely) event that jmmv's trac gets eaten by ethernet
monsters.

I don't agree. Do you really want to end up mirroring external bug
databases in gnats? If so, there are many, many more tickets in atf's bug
tracker that you should refill in gnats. Do we do the same for any other
3rd party software component in base?

Itt's reasonable for users to file bugs against NetBSD for 3rd party
components, but as soon as we know that such bugs affect upstream, we should
redirect the ticket to them and be done with it. Unless we want to fix it
ourselves in the tree with a custom patch, in which case the ticket should
 remain open.

Upstream bugs that are filed here (that matter to us) are kept here
marked suspended, yes. There are quite a few of them, actually.

This is desirable for a number of reasons; e.g. it lets other people
who've hit the same problem find the report easily.

It doesn't affect you, anyway - gnats should not nag you about
 suspended PRs.

State-Changed-Why:
I just went to check whether this was marked fixed upstream, and it seems
that the upstream report *did* get eaten by ethernet monsters -- its URL
no longer resolves.
(hopefully we just need an updated URL. jmmv?)

Yes, apparently it was eaten. I have a copy of a bunch of the issues
that used to live there in https://code.google.com/p/kyua/issues/list
(see Component=atf), but this one is not around for some reason.

I *suspect* the reason is that this issue was marked fixed. I recall
working on this and atf-run should be killing children processes when
interrupted. If it doesn't in some case, it's a bug... but then, we
need specific details that are not included here.

I think this should just be closed as it currently is.
