>Description:
The NetBSD/Amiga installation ISO contains a gzipped miniroot.fs.gz, but no gzip program for AmigaOS, so it is not possible to install from that media unless

a) One has gzip installed in AmigaOS
b) One recreates the ISO with miniroot.fs unzipped

Given that there is plenty of free space on the ISO, the miniroot.fs could as well be stored there unzipped.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install NetBSD/Amiga from AmigaOS.
>Fix:
Put an unzipped version of miniroot.fs on the ISO.

Can't people just get Geek Gadgets (e.g.) to have access to gzip nowadays?
What do you think about that?

I think that the miniroot should be installable straight from the NetBSD CDROM. It already comes with xstreamtodev, so why can't it also come with either gzip or an unzipped miniroot? Requiring people to install additional stuff is not the best idea IMHO.

 Bye...

State-Changed-Why:
Feedback received some time ago; submitter doesn't think it's ok
to assume gzip is available.

The problem is, providing and maintaining an AmigaOS gzip binary
is itself something of a problem for us.

Portmaster should decide.

I understand this addresses your concern and the PR can be closed, right?
