System: NetBSD
Architecture: i386
Machine: i386
>Description:
In 2008, savecore(8) was changed such that it no longer saves an
actual kernel, but a "fake" kernel containing only the kernel symbols.
However, this change was never documented; the savecore(8) man page
still claims it saves "the kernel".
>How-To-Repeat:
Try to debug a crash dump. Notice strange differences between the
so-called "kernel" saved by savecore and the actual kernel. Become
confused.
>Fix:
Document the fakery, or revert savecore to the documented behavior.
