Custom kernel compiled -- GENERIC with added:
options WSDISPLAY_SCROLLBACK_LINES=200
Platform: i386
Scrollback in all virtual consoles behaves very strange. It starts with 200 lines of scrollback buffer, then after issuing a few commands at the prompt seems to get smaller and provides only 50-75 lines of scrollback buffer. When changing virtual console to the next one it seems to dissappear entirely.
This bug is also easily reproducible on 6.0-BETA.

This sounds more like a bug in the vga driver than anything else. As
far as I can tell it doesn't even look at WSDISPLAY_SCROLLBACK_LINES
( assuming that's what you're using since you didn't include much
useful info )

I'm using the standard vga text mode (80x25). Tested it both on the
physical i386 box and in virtualbox -- same behavior. Can you
elaborate more on "it doesn't even look at
WSDISPLAY_SCROLLBACK_LINES"? Then how to pass correctly that option
so that it is recognized?
I can provide you any more info you want to further debug it. It's
pretty easily reproducible on standard vga text mode on *any* PC
hardware.
