>Description:
During the build of X11R6.3, i encountered several
times this error:

"Makefile", line 483: Inconsistent operator for all
Fatal errors encountered -- cannot continue

The makefiles were generated by imake (frontend xmkmf).
I could not find any error in these lines.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try chimera-1.70p0.
>Fix:
Not a fix, but a workaround:
Removing the line helped, but i had to execute the
line "by hand", e.g. when the line in question read:
	all: foo
i had to type "make foo".

Now that "xsrc" is part of the sup & source tree, is this still a problem?

Yes! I expect this error in make or libc.
Unfortunately, i cannot hunt this down, because i have currently
no Machines running NetBSD around.

Submitter indicates that this can be closed, now that there's no need
to even try to build X11R6.3 "out-of-the box."

 Hi,

I'm a new NetBSD developer. I was reviewing pr's on the "xsrc" build
 system, when I noticed yours.

NetBSD has had X11R6.3 for some time, even though it's not listed in
 <http://www.broadwayinfo.com/bwvendors.htm>. "xsrc" certainly builds,
so perhaps we can simply close this PR?

If not, and if you're still interesting in pursuing this, please give
more information. What were you trying to accomplish? Were you trying
to build a distro "out-of-the-box"? Is there something in the X11R6.3
distribution that's missing from X11R6.3 in "xsrc"?

I see that exact error with non-ansi makefiles all the time. Perhaps
"gmake World" would have worked. I suspect this is moot, at this point
 in time.

 Please respond. Thanks!
