have tried to install NetBSD 6.1.2 macppc on some Apple PowerPC G5 machines (iMac and PowerMac dual), but the cd doesn't boot…
I have also tried with OpenFirmware boot instruction as described in INSTALL documentation:

boot cd:,\ofwboot.xcf netbsd.maccppc

but when it tries to load I receive this error message:

… invalid memory access

Install via cd macppc port of NetBSD 6.1.2 on Apple machines

My understanding is that the G5 is still not supported. I'm not sure
if what you're seeing is the expected behavior though.

The last round of G5 patches is not in netbsd-6

This is still an issue with the latest snapshot from -HEAD. Tested on a
 first gen iMac G5 (PowerMac8,1)
Did the previously mentioned patches which missed netbsd-6 make it into
 the tree?
