NetBSD main.LAN 6.1.3 NetBSD 6.1.3 (GENERIC) i386
>Description:
pkg-config(1) for pkg-config 0.28 for pkgsrc 2014 Q1 doesn't list option '--libs-only-other', although 'pkg-config --help' lists it, and the flag indeed works. Similar for '--cflags-only-other'.
>How-To-Repeat:
1) grep pkg-config(1) for 'other' --> no options found
2) pkg-config --help | grep other --> '--libs-only-other' and '--cflags-only-other' found (and they seem to work).

 Update: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79658 shows the
state as still "NEW". Looks lke they're not interested.

Do we care any more now that we're using pkgconf instead?

No, we don't care. It's upstream's business to fix their bugs, and this is not critical.
