Section 5.9 (System time) explains how to get NetBSD to work with a real-time clock set to local time.
It should also document that, as an alternative, Windows 7+ can be configured to work with the real-time clock set to UTC.
To quote http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2922223
"apply a DWORD type registry key that is named RealTimeIsUniversal in the following path and set the value to 1:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation"
KB article is useful since it also shows Microsoft fixing a bug related to this feature.

I made mention of this in the Guide. You should see it within a few hours
when the next sync happens.

Thanks!
BTW, I'm not sure if the documentation needs to mention:
If you do this, you should also disable Internet Time Update in Windows.
my very up-to-date Windows 7 machine seems to be happily using
internet time (even dug itself out of a hole when I switched on UTC
on). Perhaps something like:
If you do this, you should ensure that your system has all related
fixes applied.
Also, if you hadn't seen it, here's a better reference:
http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/mswish/ut-rtc.html
Putting Windows into UTC is potentially the preferred option :-)
either way, thanks again
