I am attempting to test 7.0RC3 on the machine whose dmesg is below. I do not run a desktop system, just X, dwm, dmenu, and rox as a filesystem browser. I had just logged in and brought up X with 'startx' and attempted to start Firefox when the system locked up. No response to dwm commands, no response to the mouse, couldn't switch to another console, no response to ping from another system on local network (wired). Dead.

I am very suspicious that the issue is related to the newly added support, ported from Linux, for video hardware like the Radeon in this machine. (Taylor -- if you see this, get in touch with me via email -- donaldcallen@gmail.com -- and I'd be happy to try to help debug this.)

 time after 'startx'. So this thing is reproducible. I can leave the
 system installed on the machine in question for a bit, but would
