State-Changed-Why:
What happens is probably not a crash of X, but rather evilwm exiting
with an error.

Can you run "startx xterm" and try to start evilwm on the command line
from the xterm?
Alternatively, does Xorg.0.log contain any useful information?

was sent to "gnats" instead of "gnats-bugs" (the latter is the
database, the former is an administrative sewer that doesn't get
mucked out often, so things sent to it are at risk of getting lost)

Hello, thank you very much for your reply.
Yes i can start an xterm but it doesn't recognize any keystrokes.
I also think this must be a bug in evilwm and not in X, because other window
managers like fluxbox-1.3.7 (pkgsrc-wip), ratpoison, xmonad, dwm, mcwm, lwm
 and w9wm just work fine.

I also can start evilwm with "startx /usr/pkg/bin/evilwm" and it seems to work
normal, but when i modify the command to "startx /usr/pkg/bin/evilwm -mask1
mod4" i get this message on my display:

Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server.
The XKEYBOARD keymap cpmpiler (xkbcomp) reports:
 Error: Couldn't lookup keysym
 	 Symbol iterpretation ignored
Warning: Type "One-Level" has 1 levels, but <RALT> has 2 symbols
 	 Ignoring extra symbols

xinit: connection to X server lost
waiting for X server to shut down Segmentation fault at address 0x7f7fdce665ba

 Fatal serever error:
Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault), Server aborting

 With kind regards,
 blackcat

P.S. Should i send a bug report to the developer of evilwm?
