OSF1 [hostname] V5.1 2650 alpha
>Description:
Running bootstrap using the prebuilt GCC Alpha binaries (from ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/pkgsrc/misc/tnn/) leads to an odd failure upon running bootstrap. Following the included README.OSF1, I run the command:
# env CC=/usr/local/gcc4/bin/gcc CFLAGS=-O2 ./bootstrap --compiler gcc
After doing some work, I eventually end up with:
...
You can now run
sh ./make-bootstrap.sh
to produce a fully functional bmake.
===> running: (cd /usr/pkg/pkgsrc/bootstrap/work/bmake && /sbin/sh make-bootstrap.sh)

>How-To-Repeat:
On Tru64, enter the pkgsrc bootstrap directory and run:
env CC=/usr/local/gcc4/bin/gcc CFLAGS=-O2 ./bootstrap --compiler gcc

Responsible-Changed-Why:
Hi - this is an old PR (apologies). Are you in a position to test pkgsrc
on Tru64 anymore? If so would you be prepared to try with the latest
pkgsrc sources please? Kind regards, Chris

State-Changed-When: Sun, 07 Mar 2021 13:08:11 +0000
State-Changed-Why:
No feedback available from the originator. It would appear that Tru64
pkgsrc is not currently working, but without a test platform it will be
difficult to fix. Moving this to suspended.

State-Changed-When: Wed, 09 Jun 2021 02:45:15 +0000
State-Changed-Why:
"suspended" is for waiting for the world to change; bugs like this are
"stuck", for which there isn't a gnats state but I keep a list.

Responsible-Changed-When: Fri, 05 Nov 2021 08:42:17 +0000
Responsible-Changed-Why:
I don't have time unfortunately to field this or a Tru64 system.
We should make a decision about Tru64 support, dedicate someone to it and
get these fixed (or remove support).
