>Description:
When installing NetBSD 7.1 on an SGI O2 using netbsd-INSTALL32_IP3x, the installation defaults to fetching and installing the netbsd-GENERIC32_IP2x kernel (and of course the machine then fails to boot). For sure you can easily change that manually during the installation by explicitly selecting netbsd-GENERIC32_IP3x to be installed.
It's only a very minor annoyance provided you are aware of it, but still it might be improved.

Is there a sysctl hw or machdep node that could be used to determine the
-current sub arch in userland? All my SGIs are dead, unfortunately (or
have a dead NVRAM/RTC module and the replacements I got are broken too).
