Not much detail in the PR, but Pine64 support has changed a lot since this PR. Should be fine in 9.x and later -- please re-open if you still have issues.

i can confirm that at least pinebook (OG) stays up a long time:
12:21AM up 816 days, 23:37, 3 users, load averages: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
that's a 9.0_RC2 kernel it seems.
