Trying to boot a kernel with
options PAE
causes an immediate reset while the kernel is booting, the last message I could see before the screen went dark was at configuring ichsmb0.
The same kernel without PAE works fine.

After fixing an unrelated problem, the -current PAE kernel boots without
a problem.
