Please consider changing the option "gnuplot-pdf-doc" in graphics/gnuplot from a default one to an optional one. In order to build one single PDF file (which is easily findable on the web), ca. 50+ of TeX related (and not so related) packages are built, if they are not present. For the casual user, who wants to quickly generate a plot, this detour is a major annoyance.

I totally agree with the submitter; gnuplot-pdf-doc option requires
TeX packages, that are too much for those who only want to plot graphs.
I will commit the change if there's no objections.

PR pkg/54623 (Joern Clausen)
Disable gnuplot-pdf-doc by default. This option requires TeX packages,
that are too much for users who merely wants to plot graphs.
Bump revision.
