 It was deprecated in favour of `pkg_admin audit' and only provided for
 possible compatibility against user's scripts.

 Indeed, and it seems that this script was added exactly ten years ago. 
 Maybe a decade would be enough for the final deprecation?  Someone was even
 kind enough to provide a manual page for the script (audit-packages.8). Yet,
 it is not installed (at least any longer).

 Probably yes, it can be removed. :)

 However, this should be discussed on a mailing list (probably
 pkgsrc-users@, given that it is not specific to NetBSD) instead of
 GNATS so hopefully people possibly still using audit-packages (or
 download-vulnerability-list) in their local scripts will not have any
 surprise when it will be removed.

 [JFTR I have changed the Category: from `bin' to `pkg' because I think
 the main argument of audit-packages being deprecated is a general pkgsrc
 one, not specific to NetBSD.]
