With X2APIC enabeld within BIOS, the installer hangs and is unable to boot to any operating system relating to *BSD

No error, the system instantly restarts.

Solaris reports something a long the lines of: 
No SOF interrupts have been received this usb ehci hostcontroller is unusable

Restart, boot from ISO.

Turn on X2APIC within BIOS but you loose HT ability.

 This looks like the same issue as PR 54984, "USB and SATA broken on
 Dell PowerEdge R630 in X2APIC mode".
