I have been using i3 since 9.0 release and i3status's Wi-Fi status never worked. It always showed Wi-Fi interface as down.

Apparently, Wi-Fi status never worked because I could not see any NetBSD Wi-Fi-specific logic to make it work on NetBSD.
I have the fix for this problem, which would show the SSID of the Wi-Fi interface. I was unable to find an IOCTL call to get the RSSI of the Wi-Fi, which shows the strength of the signal.
