Note is amd64 with an integrated Intel and a discrete radeon, but crash occurs whether the integrated GPU is enable or not. The screen is using the radeon card.

Whe invoked without argument:

$ xine&

xine crashes here:

On the same node, vlc(1) works.

 xine(1) doesn't display anything when playing back an mp4 if the
 Screen depth is 16bits.

 It displays it if the screen depth is 24bits.

 It doesn't render a DVD in whatever depth---the bug is in
 MesaLib/gallium, at least with the radeon r600 driver. The bug hence
 appears also with vlc(1) and whatever is using the same code.

 To summarize at the moment with xine:

 - xine(1) crashes at whatever depth when invoked without argument
 because it tries to display the logo: "xine --no-logo" passes this and
 doesn't crash at least then. If invoked with a mp4 file: at 16bits,
 sound is here but no image; at 24 bits, rendering... In all cases,
 unable to play a DVD (crashes): bug in MesaLib/gallium, at least
 with radeon r600 driver;
