>Description:
Using the 9.3 kernel, the touchpad works flawlessly.
Using the 10.0RC1 kernel, there is only a small area on the left edge of the touchpad where moving my finger around moves the Xorg cursor. Moving my finger outside of this area does nothing.

I should point out that I'm using both kernels with the 9.3 userland. My window manager is bspwm.

Here's some more info:

 This looks weird, is this the default you see or some configuration
 you applied? If it is the default, is it different for -9 and -10 ?

 That's the default.

 Here are the defaults of same settings on 9.3:
 hw.synaptics.edge_left = 1632
 hw.synaptics.edge_right = 5312
 hw.synaptics.edge_top = 4288
 hw.synaptics.edge_bottom = 1568

 I've gone ahead and tried the 9.3 settings on a 10.0RC1 kernel and
 nothing changed.

 Does the laptop have a pointing stick in the keyboard?
 Try disabling it?

 I have a similar problem, with a laptop where 9.3_STABLE also works
 fine, but with 10.0_RC1, not only is the touchpad area computed
 completely incorrectly, but the physical buttons no longer register
 clicks either. I'll probably be filing a separate PR.

 I don't know if this would help you here, but you can gather some
 debugging information about what's going on by setting the synaptics
 debug sysctl to 10 or 20 (lower or higher verbosity), e.g.:

 sysctl -w hw.synaptics.debug=10
