>Description:
sysinst does not prompt the user to install either the source
distribution sets or the pkgsrc.tgz file.
These are both terribly useful components of the operating system
and should be optionally installed at install time, not
at "postinstall" time.
Of course, any decent open source operating system should make it
easy to get the source on your machine. By default might be
pushing it ;-)

We've been working on some similar issues for our installs, and
have been thinking along the lines of scripts that run after the
install (and probably the ability to have one that runs before
anything is installed as well, if present).
To really do the pkg installs right, you need to chroot to the
installed root, or some pathnames wind up wrong. To pass along
packages known on the CD, and/or other special installs dirs, we
have a simple script that we copy over to the root, chroot, and
invoke the script. While somewhat inelegant, something along this
line seems like the right approach.
In any case, if anybody else is working on this, I'd like to talk
to them, to see if we can come up with something clean, but general.

Half of this PR is now fixed, as sysinst now supports installing the
source sets. There is still no support for installing pkgsrc.

The second half of this is now in -current sysinst as well, and will be
pulled up before the NetBSD 6.0 release. It's not a perfect solution,
but it works.

It only took a dozen years. Thanks.
