Not known, the workaround I use:
Make a copy of your kernel in ecoff format with objcopy(1) and
boot that with tftpboot (in usr/mdec.mips) from NEWS OS 4.1.

Well, netboot on NWS-3xxx machines is not supported (yet?).
It only works on NWS-5000 machines which support tftp() on PROM.
Should the bootloader warn about it?

It should do something other than stepping on a null pointer... :-/

State-Changed-Why:
Needs some workaround.
Note even though NWS-3410 is disless model but it also has
a SCSI interface and you can boot NetBSD from SCSI disk or floppy.
To make SCSI default boot device, use "set bootdev=scsi" on PROM prompt.
