System: NetBSD pizza.causeuse.org 2.0_BETA NetBSD 2.0_BETA (PIZZA) #1: Sat Jun 5 22:11:30 CEST 2004 hauke@pizza.causeuse.org:/var/obj/netbsd-builds/2_0/sparc/obj/sys/arch/sparc/compile/PIZZA sparc
Architecture: sparc
Machine: sparc
>Description:

The send-pr manpage lists the LOGNAME environment variable as

"LOGNAME - Sets the default for the From and Reply-To fields
of the problem report. Defaults to $USER if not set."

If you were fed up with typing your email address into each PR
and set LOGNAME to 'Your Name <your@mail.addr.ess>', you'd be
surprised at how other tools react to this. Even stuff
like RCS which doesn't even mention the use of LOGNAME in the
man page(s) barfs on anything else than the UNIX username.

>How-To-Repeat:

Set LOGNAME to your name and email address for send-pr
convenience and break a few other unix tools.

>Fix:

Introduce a send-pr specific environment variable for the
purpose, or, even better, use a ~/.send-pr preferences file
	for default values.
