I downloaded the ISO images for the 1.6.2 and 2.0 versions then booted on the burned CDs.

1.6.2: hangs after message "biomask ffbd netmask fffd ttymask ffff"

2.0(Live or Install): hangs after message "wd0 at atabus1 drive 0"

GNU/Linux Mandrake 10.0/1 run fine on this machine

I'll try and see if FreeBSD installs if that helps.

If compiling the kernel myself would help, let me know.

I think this is a port-specific kernel/driver problem,
rather than a generic problem with NetBSD's system
installation software.
