>Description:
The floppy on an sparcstation10 doesn't work in a usable way.
This is noticed during install: the first floppy is loaded from the openboot pro
m (meaning that the floppy drive itself works) but the second floppy which needs
to be read by netbsd will fail.
Once netbsd is installed by other meands (cdrom, net) almost every operation on
the floppy will cause errors similars to theone noticed during the install attem
pt:
fd0a: hard error reading fsbn 0
fd0: controller status: state 17 (st0 70<abnrml,seek_cmplt,drv_chck> cyl 0)
during operation like format or even eject for example. Contrary to a similar pr report alread
y failed long, long ago, the machine doesn't lock up.
>How-To-Repeat:
try to install from floppies. Or, more conveniently, use the floppy in some way. Even a simple eject

Perhaps you tried to access a (normal) 1.44MB floppy via /dev/fd0c
device node? That would not work, since floppy driver uses partition
letters to select different floppy formats ('c' is 720KB, for example).
