This is not a bug, but a feature request.
I just downloaded NetBSD 2.1 RC5, and was happy to see that a keymap chooser is present in the installer. Unfortunately, no dvorak keymap seems to be present, which I would like to have since I'm a dvorak user :-).
It would be nice if a dvorak map could be added to the install disks, but if this is not possible due to space limits or otherwise, so be it.
Friendly greetings, Sander.

The basic problem is that we'd have to either double the size of the
menu, or add a second menu that let you select the keyboard options.
Then we'd end up having to describe (somehow) what the options mean!
Both would be a little unweildy.
The only option currently set is KB_NODEAD which is always set for
the German keyboard. Maybe others should have that as well, but
no one has requested it.
You can always ^Z out of sysinst and run wsconsctl yourself!

Module Name: src
Committed By: ghen

Modified Files:
src/distrib/utils/sysinst: wskbd.c
Log Message:
Add Colemak and Dvorak options to the sysinst keyboard layout menu. They can
not simply be added to the KB_ENC_FUN table in sys/dev/wscons/wsksymdef.h
because it doesn't allow for multiple variants of the same layout. PR#31399.
