I have a Hewlett-Packard L2000 series ("Livestrong Edition") laptop I'd like to install NetBSD on. I've been able to successfully boot and install
FreeBSD 6.0, OpenBSD 3.8, and Linux 2.6.* by turning ACPI support off at the bootloader, so I suspect doing the same for NetBSD 3.0 will allow me to boot (however I am not sure how to do this).

It currently hangs booting immediately after the following line:
ioapic0: enabling

Also, after successfully installing FreeBSD, I could boot the default option by setting the following flags in device.hints beforehand:
hint.apic.0.disabled="1"
hint.sio.0.disabled="1"
hint.sio.1.disabled="1"
>How-To-Repeat:
(1) Obtain HP L2000 series laptop
(2) Boot NetBSD 2.0.2 or 3.0 (amd64) via CD

 Sorry, I no longer have much access to that machine. At the moment
 it's half of a country away and is being used for Windows applications
 by a family member. If there is a way to test the current kernel
 without touching the disk, I *might* get a chance to try it sometime
 in March (else, this summer).

 Just grab the amd64.iso or the boot image from the daily NetBSD builds
 under ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily. Thanks for testing this.

Feedback time out. A lot of the code has changed, so it is impossible to
determine if this problem is this relevant.
