Sorry, not on my NetBSD machine to provide uname output. Its NetBSD/i386 3.0.
>Description:
Could we add an option to pkg_add to save the downloaded binary package locally? This would be extremely useful while reinstalling the system or installing NetBSD on other machines by the user.
OpenBSD's pkg_add has this option (see PKG_CACHE variable). And including PKG_CACHE in PKG_PATH should ensure this downloaded location is searched while installing through pkg_add.

State-Changed-Why:
Hi - the tool pkgin installs binary packages and also keeps a copy
in /var/db/pkgin/cache. Sounds like this is the functionality you need.
Apologies for the late response on this bug. Kind regards, Chris
