NetBSD localhost 3.0.2 NetBSD 3.0.2 (NX6125) #1:Sat Nov 11 14:23:51 EET 2006 i386
The ATI IXP AC97/auixp sound system does not work, no sound comes out although it seems to be configured properly. Any program trying to use the audio device hangs or reports time outs or just remains silent. Trying cat file > /dev/audio hangs until you press ctrl-c. I've tried compiling custom kernels to solve this but it didn't help (got some acpi devices working though). The computer is a HP Compaq nx6125 laptop with Ati xpress 200 chip set, Turion64, Radeon X300 and 512mb ram.
The same problem is also with i386 3.0.1, 3.1 and 4.0BETA releases.
Always repeatable with my nx6125 laptop.

 I can confirm this bug also on other platforms that ship with auixp. My
 bootup sequence also shows some strange stuff:

 auixp0 at pci0 dev 20 function 5: ATI Technologies IXP AC'97 Audio Controller (rev. 0x02)
 auixp0: interrupting at irq 11
 auixp0: could reset aclink
 auixp0: ac97: Avance Logic ALC655 codec; no 3D stereo
 auixp0: ac97: ext id 9c4<AC97_23,LDAC,SDAC,CDAC,SPDIF>
 <break of maybe 15 seconds>
 auixp0: ac97: CXT35 codec; no 3D stereo
 audio0 at auixp0: full duplex, mmap, independent
 audio1 at auixp0: full duplex, mmap, independent

 I might have some time to look into the problem at some point, but that's
 not sure. I'm not too much into NetBSD audio stuff.
