It seems that this package is based on development snapshot version.
 Why not use released version?

 Hi,

I imported the package from the PR (with OK from Emiliano) to wip and
 made it user-destdir compliant.

The 1.4 release from sourceforge includes an updated recursive autoconf
mess which spews syntax errors if invoked in a pkgsrc environment. I'm
currently not up to the task of reading autogenerated configure files,
so I didn't get very far with packaging that.

At least it works that way, even if it's not included in pksrc for the
 moment.

This is a third party release, but contrary to the official ones, this
version does not need it's own in-tree copies of libpng, libtiff and
libjpeg which can only be beneficial from a security standpoint.

 Best regards,

 Moritz
