>Organization:
Not much
>Environment:
System: NetBSD 4.99.69
Architecture: i386
Machine: i386
>Description:
The system crashed when I killed a pppd process.
I was in X at the time, and could not switch to the text console
or enter ddb or obtain a kernel core dump.
The pppd process was accessing a com port on a pcmcia card at the
time of the crash.
>How-To-Repeat:
Insert pcmcia modem card (com at pcmcia at cardslot at cbb at
pci).
Run pppd.
kill -1 ${pid_of_pppd}
watch system crash.
>Fix:
Unknown, but possibly related to PR 39035 and PR 39131. (It was the
same modem card in all these PRs.)
