The website http://www.netbsd.org/mirrors/ is outdated. I have tested CVSweb and FTP servers and many sites are outdated or even offline. A site is offline if there are no NetBSD files or DNS does not resolve or the server is gone. Outdated means there is no NETBSD5-RC directory. Here is the list (i didn't bother checking the Web Mirrors):

What makes you think it's outdated ?
mirror and rsync scripts are running daily ...

I read over it too the first time, but it was actually in the PR:
"Outdated means there is no NETBSD5-RC directory"
> mirror and rsync scripts are running daily ...
On ftp.be also. I didn't know about the 5_RC directory, so it never got
added to my sync scripts.

I overlooked it and though he talked about the NETBSD5-RC directories in
/pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-5/

Same here. AFAIK it never got announced, and I can't see what purpose it
serves.

The file ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/README says it is for ,,Daily
snapshot of the NetBSD 5 upcoming release branch''. I just picked it
randomly, maybe i should have choosen the directory NetBSD-4.0.1 instead.

We have created a script that automatically checks all ftp, rsync and
www mirrors by spot-checking certain files. We do not check the
NetBSD-daily subdirectory, however, and consider a mirror to be "up to
date" or "complete" if it mirrors all our supported releases, isos and
security advisories.
This check is run on a weekly basis and we follow up with mirror
maintainers if any mirrors are found to be incomplete or not up to date.
Furthermore, we are in the (admittedly slow moving) process of nailing
down requirements for netbsd.org country-code CNAMEs.
I'll live this PR open until we have finalized and published these
requirements.
