From the -Du_int16_t=unsigned\ short I'd judge that the configure test
for u_int16_t (and similar) produced the wrong answer. If you still see
this (it works for me on 7.99), can you check config.log? Otherwise, let's
assume it's just something broken on -4 and close the PR.
