Hmm that seems to be a flash related problem... With an older
netbsd-native firefox but with nspluginwrapper and libflashsupport with
flash9 it seems to work here, but I also had to use the
kern.ipc.shmmaxpgs=262144 sysctl for flash not to crash.
I guess that to diagnose this PR more information is needed on your
setup...
Thanks,

flash should not be involved here, and I have no plugin for that installed.
Note that the video feature is one of the new things in 3.5*

On 4.99.15/amd64, it doesn't die, but it gets incredibly slow.
(I have noscript installed, so I have to confirm execution of the
video first.)

Doh, 5.99.15/amd64 of course.

Do you have a working sound card on /dev/audio? I have noticed
that video works relatively well on my i386 netbook with sound, but
is very sluggish on a -much- faster amd64, which also doesn't have
audio hardware.

It is a fast amd64 with working audio (though I sometimes get a kind
of persistent stuttering sound, like samples get reordered wrongly or
so -- independent of firefox of course).

It is not 100% reproducable. It looks like a memory corruption problem
in liboggplay, the segfaults happen in free/realloc and friends.

I think there might still be a problem with the audio output on
64-bit platforms. I don't currently have a machine with working audio
to test on, so if someone wants to take over this PR please do.

Looks like problems with the sunaudio output.
Switching to oss output dramatically improves playback.

Still crashes for me (though the crash is not as fast reproducable any
more, need to play a few more videos).

I just want to note that this also occurs on firefox 4.0.1 from
pkgsrc-2011Q2; embedded "HTML5" player is very slow and unstable, often
crashing.
