my organization is fairly poor and my company is tiresome. thanks for asking!
NetBSD sneeuwwitje 5.99.24 NetBSD 5.99.24 (MONOLITHIC) #0: Mon Mar 1 22:33:51 CET 2010 root@sneeuwwitje:/usr/src/netbsd-current/src/obj/sys/arch/i386/compile/MONOLITHIC i386

My PCI Broadcom 5701 Gb ethernet card, which works nicely under the shipped kernel in 5.0.1 (not to mention Linux 2.6.26) is giving the following error under this -current kernel and refusing to pass any traffic:

bge0: watchdog timeout -- resetting
bge0: block failed to stop: reg 0x4800, bit 0x00000002

Kernel config is an unmodified "MONOLITHIC" built with and based on today's CVS version of the code.
On my computer, boot this kernel instead of the stock one. Booting stock kernel resolves issue.
