5.0.1, 5.0.2 and current (5.99.39)
On my Asus (PRO-79AB) notebook Elantech touchpad in not working. I've tested it on 5.0.* and current - no luck. Both of the buttons are not responding.
Install 5.0.2 or current on notebook with Elantech touchpad.

on my Asus Notebook K52JR I have to set the following option
in the kernel config file to detect my mouse as synaptics instead
 of elantech (with 5.99.45 i386 and amd64):

Xorg -configure then creates the correct xorg.conf using wsmouse
as a device and it works fine. It might be possible to set the mouse
to synaptics using wsconsctl/wsmouse if you don't want to build
a new kernel, but I have not tried this.

 Good luck,

 Kai-Uwe Eckhardt
