>Description:
After I/O-errors and/or timeouts with ntfs-3g (fuse) -mounted usb-disk, umount results as instant hard-reset.
device: umass0: Iomega External HD, rev 2.00/0.00, addr 5
sd0 at scsibus0 target 0 lun 0: <SAMSUNG, HD103SI, > disk fixed sd0: 931 GB, 16383 cyl, 16 head, 63 sec, 512 bytes/sect x 1953525168 sectors

system related:
usb0 at uhci0: USB revision 1.0
cpu0 at mainbus0 apid 0: Intel 686-class, 996MHz, id 0 x86a

version: ntfs-3g 1.1120

error messages prior to crash:
/netbsd: umass0: at uhub1 port 2 (addr 5) disconnected
/netbsd: sd0(umass0:0:0:0): generic HBA error
/netbsd: sd0: cache synchronization failed
/netbsd: sd0: detached
ntfs-3g[1932]: Error reading $Mft record(s): Input/output error
ntfs-3g[1932]: ntfs_mft_record_read failed: Input/output error
ntfs-3g[1932]: ntfs_attr_pread: ntfs_pread failed: Input/output error

messages are all prior to umount, crash happens with no logs, instant reset after pressing enter.
Umounting msdos-usbstick after timeouts works out fine.

There is a patch for FreeBSD for similar symptoms, but I'm unable to find it again to include it here.

Responsible-Changed-Why:
Problem is in the USB drivers, not fuse, so it's not a pkgsrc issue.

Is/was there a panic message on the console? Ordinarily the system
won't reboot upon pressing enter like that unless there's been an
 explicit panic.

If you can, please try 5.1 -- I think at least one source of "generic
HBA error" problems has been fixed.

Probably won't do us much good, but if you find it please send the
 information in.
